Director of User Experience Research and Design

The Director of User Experience and Design will lead a team of UX researchers and designers to ensure Brunswick digital customers experiences are highly usable, intuitive, and innovative throughout the enterprise. This role is an opportunity to design, develop and lead a world class digital product design team.
Job Description:
Deliver customer-focused design solutions, that are intuitive and meet brand and company standards. Manage and mentor designers to and researchers encourage professional growth. Develop and grow the influence of our user experience practice in the Enterprise. Actively contribute to customer experience strategy within the Brunswick business units. Lead a team of designers practicing user experience research and interaction design to ensure a cohesive user experience across digital touchpoints (websites, apps, dealer digital experiences, etc.) Primary
Responsibilities:
Lead Digital Product Design (experience strategy, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, user research, and prototyping) for Brunswick digital consumer experiences, ensuring a best in class experience developed in the most efficient manner for all Brunswick brands. Prioritize user experience work to align with corporate goals and business objectives. Drive cohesive customer experiences across devices and business areas using best in class processes (eg. customer journey maps). Manage designers to initiate, define and conduct effective customer research using a variety of methods (generative and evaluative, qualitative, and quantitative, heuristic and competitive). Manage designers to improve user experiences through the creation and maintenance of project requirements, user personas, user journey maps, user stories, use cases, flow charts, wireframes and prototypes. Provide customer experience research to help inform business strategy. Collaborate with agile product teams and lead project stakeholder meetings, to determine business requirements, goals and provide subject matter expert insights. Collaborate with design production team (Creative Director, design leads, visual designers, etc) to concept and improve user experiences that meet business needs, customer needs, and elevate the brand image. Help define Brunswick digital design team vision and purpose in an agile work environment. Establish standards for UX interaction design and research deliverables for entire UX team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Manage all aspects of performance and development of direct reports to encourage professional growth. Possess advanced knowledge of user research methods and demonstrated ability to synthesize findings into actionable plans. Possess advanced knowledge of user interface design patterns and standard user-centered design methodologies across multiple platforms (desktop, mobile, apps). Ability to lead a team to design omni-channel user experiences. Integrate and utilize customer feedback from site analytics, A/B testing, and voice of customer managers to improve user experience. Maintain the highest level of understanding of current user needs, use cases and functionality. Strong communication skills - including ability to present research findings and design solutions with clear rationale behind decision making, clear and concise written communication, and good interpersonal skills. Strong project management skills - able to manage multiple projects and meet all necessary deadlines. Ability to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment that partners design with business stakeholders, IT and other designers. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptiveness, collaborating with other designers to standardize user experiences and encourage group critique. Experience Required:

years experience as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer or User Researcher. 5
years experience managing teams of user researchers, interaction or visual designers. Bachelor's degree in design, HCI or equivalent Workflow/wireframe document software tools (Axure, Visio, OmniGraffle, or similar); Remote Usability Testing/Web Conferencing software services, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), and Apple computer operating system required. Familiarity with HTML/CSS, InVision and other prototyping tools. Experience with Agile, and Design Thinking concepts. Familiarity with direct to consumer digital experience requirements and design. Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Design & UXEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
